Ever wondered what it’s like to work inside a game studio? To see ideas come to life,  build worlds, characters, and features that players actually enjoy? 

From February to May 2026, we’re welcoming a select group of interns to join our studio. This is your chance to explore your ideas professionally and experience the full game development cycle.

You’ll grow your skills, contribute to live projects, work in teams, and experiment on new ideas. We believe growth happens when people are trusted with real responsibilities, supported by experienced teams, and challenged in live environments.

Why This Internship Exists

Knowing how to code, design characters, or animate is only part of the game. The real challenge? Navigating deadlines, teaming up across disciplines, taking feedback in stride, and seeing ideas through to completion.

The Maliyo Games Internship Programme bridges that gap by placing interns directly inside active development spaces, where learning happens through contribution, collaboration, and guided responsibility.

This programme was created to:

• Build a pipeline of junior talent who have a good understanding of production environments
• Create access to practical, production-level experience
• Integrate emerging talent into the studio’s core workflow
• Encourage fresh ideas and experimentation within a rapid prototyping model

This Is a Hands-On, Full-Production Internship

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive straight into the action.

Interns at Maliyo Games contribute directly to ongoing development, including:

• Live game projects and updates
• Feature development and iteration
• Internal tools and workflows
• Concept art, characters, UI, environments, and animation
• Early-stage prototypes and experimental ideas
  

This means you’ll see the full game development cycle in action; how ideas are brainstormed, built, tested, refined, and sometimes reinvented. Along the way, you’ll pick up technical skills, creative problem-solving, teamwork strategies, and knowledge of how a top African game studio operates.

It’s fast-paced, hands-on, and full of opportunities to learn, but most importantly, it’s fun, creative, and rewarding.
