GameUp Africa supports young African game developers and creators from nine African countries. Derived from our in-house training programme and intended for entry-level candidates, the GameUp Africa runs over five months with three unique components: Learning, Mentoring, and the Game Project. The overall outcome of the programme is to create a robust talent pipeline for Africa’s emerging game development industry.
The African Games Industry Report covers the length and breadth of the game development landscape in Africa. Intended as a resource for key industry stakeholders, the report offers critical insights and actionable analysis, aiming to stimulate investment and growth in the games ecosystem across the continent. It explores game development as a business, highlighting best practices from other emerging markets while also offering key recommendations for growth.
The GameUp Africa Meetup is a monthly gathering designed for game programmers, artists, designers, animators, indie developers, storytellers, sound engineers, and all professionals involved in bringing a game to life. It takes place physically in Lagos and Nairobi alongside a virtual platform hosting the community from across the continent. This invite-only series offers industry professionals an avenue to learn, share knowledge, and foster co-creation.
This three-month programme provides a foundational understanding of creating authentic and original music and sound effects for games. The skills acquired here are transferrable to animation, film, and music.
