Community Manager

Maliyo Games is seeking a Community Manager with strategic and operational responsibility to grow our game developer talent programme by driving the learning journey via various community-based interactions. The role demands a high level of empathetic thinking, innovation, a high bar for quality and design and a mentality of starting with the basics and building towards experiences that qualifies learners to build games independently.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the game developer learning experience through an on- and off-platform community.
  • Provide structure and support to novice game developers by evangelizing Maliyo’s pedagogy.
  • Build a long-term strategy for instructional programming. Identify opportunities to ensure high-quality programming.
  • Develop and operationalize strategies to grow the capacity and effectiveness of programs beyond traditional programming.
  • Grow the community by increasing participation and reach.
  • Drive retention by ensuring engagement and community involvement.
  • Demonstrate the impact on retention and advancement by collecting feedback and reporting on learning community activity and trends.
  • Interact with product managers, play instructors, and curriculum developers to oversee new community-building initiatives.
  • Moderate the learner community.
  • Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of learning-related communications.
  • Responsible for any training-related logistics and coordination of technical support.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of high-quality learning programs.
  • Ensure effective systems to track program development and outcomes and regularly evaluate program components to ensure that the requirements are being met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing learning communities in the technology space.
  • Demonstrated experience leading performance- and outcomes-based programs.
  • Proven leadership, management, and program development experience.
  • Commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.
  • Ability to set and achieve strategic objectives on budget.
  • Persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project and time management skills.
  • Excellent ability to communicate about learning to play from a beginner perspective with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Personal commitment to improving your own knowledge and skills with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Work requires continued attention to detail in establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and within a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in-person and remotely.
