Last year, we watched young creators step into the Maliyo Games studio with curiosity and walk out with new confidence, fresh ideas, and a better understanding of how games are made.
They sketched characters. They shaped game ideas. They worked in teams. They presented their projects. Most importantly, they began to see games differently not just as something to play, but as something they could create.
That is why we are excited to announce the Maliyo Games Junior Internship 2026, a two-week, hands-on work experience programme designed for children aged 10–14.
The programme is scheduled to run from 20th – 31st July 2026 at the Maliyo Games studio in Lagos.

Why We’re Doing This
At Maliyo Games, we believe that early exposure to game making strengthens storytelling abilities while fostering innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills from an early age.
Games are not only about play. They are built through imagination, teamwork, problem-solving, design, and communication.
The Junior Internship gives children a chance to experience that process in a real game studio environment.
It is about nurturing young minds to understand how ideas convert to products, while giving them the confidence to create, share, and think differently.
What to Expect
Over the course of two weeks, junior interns will be introduced to the foundations of game design in a fun, practical, and age-appropriate way.
Participants will get the opportunity to:
- learn the foundations of game design
- explore storytelling and creative thinking
- work with other young participants
- brainstorm ideas and make games
- build confidence through presentation and public speaking
- experience what it feels like to work at a game studio
Who Can Apply?
The Junior Internship is open to children who are:
- aged 10–14
- based in Lagos
- curious about games, creativity, stories, design, or technology
- excited to learn and work with others
No prior game development experience is required.
.All we need is curiosity, a passion for games, and a willingness to learn.
